Join us after the event for the performance of Girls in Boys’ Cars – access $25 tickets if you are 25 and under.
Join us for a night of interactive fun celebrating art, music, and food from right here in Western Sydney and the rural towns featured in Girls in Boys’ Cars. The night will include live music from local R&B artist Charnel Rizk, a photo booth inspired by Asheeka and Rosa’s road trip, the opportunity to share your own road trip stories with an interactive Graffiti wall, and artworks showcased by community artists from the towns visited in the play. Goodie bags will also be given out to the first arrivals to our event, so be sure to make it in time for those!
The event has free entry and starts at 6pm, at the Riverside Theatres’ Courtyard. See you there!

Two friends, an accidental road trip, and a whole lot of trouble.
Asheeka and Rosa are funny, sharp, adventurous young women who refuse to be held back any longer.
When they end up on a Thelma and Louise-esque road trip in Western Sydney, a series of escalating events land Rosa in juvenile jail living her life through books and wondering about her best mate, who has disappeared.
Based on Western Sydney author Felicity Castagna’s award-winning novel.
“I am beyond excited to be working on this show that centres the lives and tribulations of two young ethnic women from Western Sydney, and to be a part of a story that explores complex female friendships. I was drawn to the authenticity in Felicity’s writing and can’t wait to see such a dynamic story be adapted for our stages by Priscilla Jackman.
It’s an honour to curate an event where we can extend the theatre experience to not only seeing a performance, but also engaging with the story and themes with local youth and community through sharing art, food, and music in an interactive environment.”
Olivia Xegas (they/she) is a Greek-Australian multidisciplinary artist based on unceded Darug country, and enjoys living and working in her local Parramatta area. In May 2021 they completed a Bachelor of Performance at the Australian Institute of Music – Dramatic Arts (AIMDA). She is currently part of PYT Fairfield’s Company for 2023 and is co-founder of independent theatre company Dollhouse Collective. Olivia has recently toured schools across Sydney and Bathurst performing in two productions for Blue Whale Theatre. She is also writing her debut play where they explore the intersection between lesbian and Greek identity through a Western Sydney lens.
