Join us for this amazing opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Directing from award-winning director of Fade, Jeneffa Soldatic. Jeneffa will take you through her processes for directing a production, allowing you to gain professional insight.
Jeneffa will take you through her processes for directing a production, allowing you to gain insight into professional industry practice and gain some expert tips for directing your own student productions or apply to your in-class workshopping.
Included in your workshop price is a ticket to Fade, where you can see Jeneffa’s work in action and how her processes translate to the final product.
Jeneffa Soldatic
Jeneffa is an Australian/Istro-Romanian multi award-winning director. Her work is shaped by her lived experience of being the child of immigrants. Growing up in the Western suburbs of Australia, one of the only kids in her town from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, she became a storyteller to be included and to provide inclusivity. Since 1997 she’s travelled and worked extensively around the world honing and refining her skills, accumulating a body of work as an award-winning film & theatre director, writer, and acting coach. Jeneffa co-wrote The Yam Corsage, and directed the stage reading for Sydney Festival 2021 (NTofP) and co-directed the Australian premiere of The Incredible Here and Now by Felicity Castagna (NTofP). Directing highlights include the multi-award-winning play Speaking in Tongues for the (Australian Theatre Company (LA), winning Stage Scene Award for Best Director. Things I Know To Be True (Australian Theatre Company) (staged reading) and Be Careful What You Wish For (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), and The Normal Heart (Eternity Playhouse) for the Marriage Equality vote. She has directed multi award-winning short films and directs for TV in USA for Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan. Jeneffa has an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School in NYC & is a proud life member of the Actors Studio. She’s been awarded the Croatian Studies Foundation Grant & Best Director Stage Scene LA.
